Jharkhand and Manipur clinched title in the men and women's sections respectively in the 18th East Zone Handball Championship that concluded at the Patliputra Sports Complex here today.
Jharkhand defeated Odisha 30-23 in the men's section while Manipur beat host Bihar 16-11 in women's section.
Former runners-up Bihar beat Manipur to secure third place in the men's section. In the women's section, West Bengal defeated Odisha to win third position.
Assam and West Bengal bagged fair play trophy in the men's and women's section respectively.
Rakesh Raj of Odisha was declared best scorer and Shyam Sunder of Bihar best goalkeeper in the three-day championship.
