Jharkhand MLAs will now get travel coupons worth Rs five lakh, covering diesel, train and flight expenses in a year, the Assembly was informed today.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Saryu Roy said it has been decided to hike the travel coupons from Rs three lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

The decision came after Marxist Coordination Committee MLA Arup Chatterjee sought raise in the travel expenses coupon covering diesel, train and flight travel.

"The coupons are issued annually and its financial year ends on May 31," Chatterjee told reporters later.
