Jharkhand on the path of digitilisation: IT secretary

Jharkhand is on the path of digitilisation, state Information and Technology secretary Satyandra Singh said today.

Giving details about the department, Singh said that under the digital literacy campaign one lakh people have become digital literates while four lakh people have registered and getting training on digitilisation.

The department has begun 'e-prerak' to train the poor and the youth, he said adding they would be trained about email, online form, website, mobile and other learning.

Addressing a press conference, Singh said with the assistance of BSNL WI-FI and 4G connectivity is being started in extremist-affected areas.

Now 782 BTS BSNL towers are being developed for WI-FI Hotspots by the BSNL, which would help connectivity in the remotest areas. This will help 15 lakh people of 2000 villages, Singh Said. This has begun at Ulihatu in Khunti district on September 19.
 

Stating work was in the last phase to connect 1.06 crore out of 1.70 crore with DBT, he said 55 lakh beneficiaries are being given money through DBT now.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yozana, 1.20 crore accounts have been opened, 87 per cent of the accounts have been made Aadhaar seeding and 58 per cent passbooks have been made mobile seeding while 74.43 per cent Rupay cards have been issued, he said.

Singh said that construction of four new Software Technology Park started, which would be completed by December this year.

E-bank manager, e-merchant manager and network manager have been appointed in every district while e-block manager have been appointed in every block, Singh said.
