"We are not opposed to educational institutions coming up in Jharkhand. But the institutions should come up on barren lands," Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric) President Babulal Marandi told reporters in Giridih.
JPCC President Pradeep Kumar Balmachu sent a 3-member team to Nagari village to take stock of the yesterday's incident, in which several people, including a police superintendent, were injured by stone pelting villagers.
Jharkhand Disom Party President Salkhan Murmu said his party had thrice given memorandum to Jharkhand governor in the past to shift the proposed educational institutions elsewhere.
"Our party will support the Nagari villagers and intensify the agitation till the government accept their demand to shift the institutions from there," Murmu said.
The Vice-president of ruling AJSU, Praveen Prabhakar, suggested a dialogue to resolve the matter peacefully.
