Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited (JSBCL), a Jharkhand government entity, will sell liquor from tomorrow in the state.
In all 208 liquor shops have been opened across the state by JSBCL, Excise and Prohibition Secretary Avinash Kumar said here.
The government has taken the decision to control liquor sale and stop its illegal sale, he said at a press conference here.

The JSBCL-run shops will remain open from 1 PM to 10 PM in urban areas and 12 noon to 8 PM in rural areas, Kumar said.
JSBCL will do all work from godown to retail shops, including collection of cash. Employees have been appointed for two separate companies, he said.
Kumar said the government will give Rs 1 lakh as encouragement allowance for development of any panchayat in the event of making the panchayat liquor-free.
To control illegal sale of liquor, the department had raided places at Namkum, Tundi, Ghatsila and Koderma and seized a large quantity of illegal liquor, Kumar said adding, the department has demanded a CID probe in this connection, which has been accepted by the chief minister.
