Jharkhand will convene gram sabhas in all panchayats on October 2, the birthday of Father of Nation.
Gram Sabha will be convened in all panchayats on October 2, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said at Gumla, while addressing the South Chota Nagpur Division Convention of mukhias, panchayat secretariat assistants and self-help groups.
Women's self-help groups from 31 blocks of five districts were present, according to a press release.

Asserting that by 2019 all villages would be made self-sustainable, besides achieving cleanliness standard, Das said the administration would assist people in development works.
Calling for a survey of poor families in all panchayats, he said they would get their rights.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister gave Rs 1 lakh to one Sukru Devi to encourage the education of her grand son and grand daughter, the release said.
Under the Ladli Laxmi Yozana, 203 beneficiaries got Rs 12.18 lakh (national saving certificates), it said.
Another 54 beneficiaries got NSC worth RS 16.2 lakh under Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yozana, the release said, adding under the Grameen Vikas Yozana, 355 beneficiaries got Rs 7.10 crore.
Appointment orders were given to newly appointed junior engineers and computer operators, the release said.
