Jharkhand to get 1,000 addiction-free model villages

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said 1,000 model villages would be developed and all of them will be open defecation free and addiction-free.

Referring to Aara and Keram villages becoming model villages Das said panchayats under which these 1,000 villages will fall will be incentivised with of Rs 20,000 every month.

While visiting Tundahuli panchayat at Ormanjhi on the outskirts of Ranchi today, the chief minister discussed various problems and aspects of rural development with the villagers and announced Rs 1 lakh to model villages - Aara and Keram.

Das said there should not be any BPL card holders in model villages.
