Jharkhand XI and Rhino Football Club match ends 1-1

Jharkhand XI and Rhino Football Club, Assam drew 1-1 in the inaugural group league match of the All India Jan-Nayak Karpoori Thakur Football Tournament at Moinul Haq Stadium here today.

The Jharkhand team took the lead in the 44th minute through a penalty kick by Moinuddin Khan. The first half ended 1-0.

In the second half, both the teams came close to scoring on a few occasions, but their forwards missed the opportunities.

RFC's Manjit Rabha finally came up with a dazzling display to convert a cross pass from Gorakhchand Marandi to score the equaliser in the 77th minute.

Jharkhand XI could have clinched the game but Babulal Munda and Santosh Hembram missed two goal chances each.
 

Earlier, Director General (DG) Sports, Kumar Rajesh Chandra inaugurated the 13-day tournament in which 12 teams from different parts of the country are participating.
