A 26-year-old man, who was angered over his lover's impending marriage to another person, allegedly shot her dead before turning the gun on himself, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday in Maharajpur area here when Satyakesh Paswan, a tempo driver by profession, took his 22-year-old lover Vandana to a field, where he allegedly shot at her before turning the gun on himself, SP (Rural) Surendra Tiwari said.
Police said their bodies have been sent for post-mortem and a country-made pistol recovered from the spot.
No complaint has been registered by either of their families, police said, adding that the matter is being probed.
