Union Minister Jitendra Singh today met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and expressed concerns over the clashes between two groups at Baltal en route Amarnath Yatra.
Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, was accompanied by Avinash Khanna, MP and Chief Whip in Rajya Sabha.
In response to their demand for immediate intervention, Rajnath assured that he would ask the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah to take all necessary steps in the matter and report back to him, said an official press release.
Later in the evening, the Home Minister called Jitendra Singh and conveyed to him that he had spoken with the Chief Minister and that necessary steps had been taken for controlling the situation, the release said.
