Celebrated Indian shooter Jitu Rai shot his way to a bronze medal in the men's 10-metre air pistol event at the ongoing ISSF Shooting World Cup here today.

An Asian and Commonwealth Games gold-medallist, Jitu aggregated a total of 181.1 points to finish third on the podium, missing out on the gold medal shoot-out by 0.4 points.

Jin Jongoh of Korea won the yellow metal with a score of 206.0 beating Naung Ye Tun of Myanmar (201.0) in the gold medal shoot-out.

In the men's 50-metre rifle prone event, Chain Singh missed out on a medal finishing sixth after qualifying for the finals. He tallied 123.6.

Jitu was the first Indian shooter to earn a quota place for next year's Rio Olympics when he bagged a silver medal in the World Championships in Granada, Spain last September.

Yesterday, Apurvi Chandela became the second Indian shooter to bag a quota for the Games after winning the 10-metre air rifle bronze in the Korean city.

Apurvi shot a total of 185.6 in the finals, to finish behind Pejcic Snjezana of Croatia and Ivana Maksimovic of Serbia, who clinched silver.
