JJ Abrams series 'Almost Human' cancelled after one season

JJ Abrams's sci-fi series 'Almost Human' has been cancelled by Fox after just one season.

Produced by Abrams, 'Almost Human' stars Karl Urban and Michael Ealy as a human cop and a human-like combat android who are partnered up in 2048, reported Variety.

The series, which premiered in November, also stars Minka Kelly, Mackenzie Crook, Michael Irby and Lili Taylor.

Its March season finale averaged 5.63 million viewers and a 1.5 in the 18-49 demographic, down from 9.1 million viewers and a 3.1/8 share in adults 18-49 on its opening.

The news come shortly after Abrams's 'Star Wars: Episode VII' revealed its cast, which includes John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow.
