The wife and daughter of Ramgarh Block deputy head were beaten up by armed ultras of the banned Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP) in Palamau district, police said Thursday.
The wife and daughter of the block deputy head have been admitted to a local hospital, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Surjit Kumar said here.
The ultras of the JJMP knocked the door of the Ramgarh Block deputy head, Mahavir Sao at Pinde village on Wednesday night but Sao fled from the back door, the DSP said.
Not finding Sao in the house, the ultras beat up his wife and daughter, Kumar said, adding prima facie, it appears that JJMP ultras have come to extort money from the block deputy head.
