JK Assembly Speaker seeks report from LS for launching channel

Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Mubarak Gul today directed officials to obtain a comprehensive report from the Lok Sabha secretariat for launching a television channel of the state Assembly.

The Speaker issued instructions for launching a website of the Assembly secretariat, both at Srinagar and Jammu, in coordination with Information Technology Department and NIC, besides providing Wi-Fi system within both offices, an official spokesman said here.

Gul also instructed officials to install electronic attendance machines at both offices for ensuing proper attendance of employees, he said.

The Speaker, the spokesman said, was addressing a meeting convened to review the working of various House Committees and officials of the Assembly secretariat.
 

The Speaker urged upon officials to provide all assistance to the chairman and members of the committees in a bid to make them more effective, expeditious, result oriented and meaningful, he said.

Gul also directed officials to place all public grievances before the Committee on Petitions for scrutiny and examination, the spokesman added.
