Jammu and Kashmir BJP today welcomed the Centre's decision to recruit West Pakistan Refugees (WPR) in the armed forces.

JK BJP chief and MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma, today said that the refugees will be fully rehabilitated in the days to come.

"We welcome Singh's (Union Minister Rajnath) decision on West Pakistan refugees. The West Pakistani Refugees will be fully rehabilitated in the days to come. They will enjoy full Indian citizenship rights," Sharma said here today.

"Home minister Rajnath Singh has approved concessions for West Pakistani Refugees. This is line with the BJP thinking and proves that the party does what it says. In future, it will be easier for West Pakistani refugees to get recruited in para military forces and other concessions, which is a welcome step," the BJP MP said.

The government yesterday initiated a slew of measures for the benefit of refugees from West Pakistan settled in Jammu and Kashmir, including a directive to central armed paramilitary forces (CAPF) for recruiting them.
