"Golf courses at Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Jammu are attracting golfers from across the country and the completion of another course at Ladakh would complete the golf circuit in JK, which is fast emerging as the choicest destination for the game," Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said at a function here.

He said golfers could enjoy playing golf in different geographical conditions, enjoying the scenic beauty of the state and charming locational diversification.

Earlier, the chief minister teed-off the Times Golf Tournament at Royal Springs Golf Course here.

He said holding of tournaments like this would encourage golfers to participate and showcase the state as an interesting golf destination.

The tournament has been organised by Times of India Group in collaboration with the state tourism department.

The tournament will shortlist 25 golfers who would participate at the North Zone Times Golf Tournament to be held at Chandigarh.
