Jammu and Kashmir Congress today claimed that the compensation for damages, caused by the floods last month, is being delayed as the Centre has not accepted the package demanded by the state government so far.
"We express anguish as the delivery of compensation for the damages was getting delayed due to the fact that the Central government has not decided to accept the package required by the state government," former Union minister and state Congress chief Saifuddin Soz said today.
Soz also said that the Congress will provide "technically correct and workable inputs" to the state government and the Centre for a long-term plan to save the state, particularly low lying areas of Kashmir Valley from floods in future.
