Expressing serious concern over road accidents in the state, Vohra, who is also the chairman of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), asked DGP Ashok Prasad to review the causes of frequent mishaps, particularly on several stretches of the National Highway.
Sixteen pilgrims were killed and 16 others injured when a truck carrying 34 persons, who were engaged in setting a community kitchen at Amarnath, skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge near Zamoorha Morh in Mansar belt of Samba district, about 50 kms from Jammu city late last night.
