JK govt developing new tourist sites: Bhalla

"The government is paying focused attention to exploit the tourism potential in Jammu and for this purpose a number of new tourist spots and heritage sites are being developed," Raman Bhalla, Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, said today.

He was interacting with a deputation of All J&K Tourists Welfare Association here.

Listing the upcoming and completed projects taken up in the region, he said the government has sanctioned Rs 89 lakh for development of surrounding areas in Jammu.

Bhalla said the government wanted to bring Belicharana village in Jammu under tourist map and for this purpose, the government has earmarked Rs 110 crore for construction of artificial lake downstream river Tawi.

 

The minister said there are many unexplored beautiful areas in the state which need to be projected at the national and international levels for attracting tourists and pilgrims.
