Panun Kashmir, a representative body of migrant Kashmiri Pandits, today said the government and political class has failed to deport Rohingyas from here.

The organisation termed the stay of the Rohingyas in the state as a threat to the security and law and order situation.

"The issue of Rohingya immigrants in Jammu is developing into a very serious threat to the security and law & order situation in the state and Jammu province in particular," Panun Kashmir president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo told reporters here today.

He said, "it is surprising to note that despite warnings over the last one year in this connection, the government and the political class has failed to take the issue seriously and deport them from Jammu".

Chrungoo said, "We cannot absolve the role of those politicians who were responsible for their stay in the Jammu city and its suburbs over the last fifteen years".

He said their comforts here are being taken care of by the political class and some NGOs and their detection and deportation is contested and also given a communal colour.

Hitting out at former chief minister Farooq Abdullah for raking up greater autonomy, Chrungoo said, "Once again, the protagonists have started talking about autonomy in the J&K state.
