JK govt initiates criminal action against construction company

Jammu and Kashmir government today initiated criminal proceedings against a construction company for allegedly not undertaking repair and maintenance work of a four-lane national highway in Ramban district.

Criminal proceedings were initiated against Ramky Group for not undertaking works in four stretches of the highway, said Ramban District Magistrate Mohammad Aijaz.

Residents of Banihal are facing inconvenience because of the highway's poor condition, an officer said.

The company has been served a notice under Section 133 of the CrPc. The DM took the step following complaints from people in the area,he said.
