JK Govt sets up Committees for 'Make in India' programme

The Jammu and Kashmir government today set up two high power committees for implementation of the 'Make in India' programme.

The government has accorded sanction to the constitution of Apex Committee and Monitoring Committee for the implementation of the 'Make in India Programme' and Ease of doing Business in the state, an official spokesman said.

Chief Secretary, J&K, will be the Chairman of the Apex Committee. Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department will be the Member Secretary of the Committee.

The Apex Committee will address issues identified by the Department of Industrial, Policy and Promotion (DIPP) for ensuring 'Ease of doing Business' and creating an enabling framework for stimulating investments in manufacturing, he said, adding that it will also address the issues brought before it by the Monitoring Committee.
 

The Chairman of the Monitoring Committee will be the Financial Commissioner, I&C Department.

The Monitoring Committee shall review the existing procedures prevalent in the I&C Department and other Government Departments that regulate the setting up of and smooth working of Industry in the state, spokesman said.
