JK govt should scrap radio taxi operation: NCP

"Operation of radio taxis in JK should be withdrawn...I appeal to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to direct the Transport department to reconsider its stand," JK NCP chief Thakur Randhir Singh told reporters here today.

The move will affect livelihood of "over 21,000 taxi operators and unemployed educated youths presently engaged with this trade will become totally idle".

Radio taxi service was launched in Srinagar last month.
