Twelve government officials were placed under suspension today after they were found absent from their duties during a surprise inspection in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.
The suspension of the employees was ordered by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag who inspected various offices in the district as part of efforts to ensure smooth functioning of the government offices, an official spokesman said.
He said the Deputy Commissioner conducted a surprise visit of Tehsil office, Block Veterinary Office, District Veterinary Office, artificial Breeding Station and Poultry Development Office.
