JK govt to issue I-cards to blood donors

The Jammu and Kashmir government today said blood donors would be issued identity cards from the Health Department for treatment facilities on priority in hospitals.

"Blood donors will be issued identity cards from the Health Department for treatment facilities on priority in hospitals," Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmad Khan said.

In this regard, necessary directions had already been given to both the Directors of Health Services Kashmir and Jammu, the Minister said.

The minister was inaugurating the Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on the eve of the Republic day at Gandhi Nagar Hospital.

Khan listed steps taken by the government for providing quality healthcare facilities to people of the state.
 

He said due to concerted efforts of the government, the Centre had doubled the NRHM budget to Rs 436 crore to the state this fiscal.
