Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today condoled the death of supercop K P S Gill as he recalled the latter's "fearless leadership" during the days of Punjab militancy.
Vohra, in his message to Gill's family, said he served as the Home Secretary of Punjab when the IPS officer was "procured on deputation from Assam to combat the arising challenges in Punjab."
Paying rich tributes to Gill's fearless leadership, the governor said the police officer served Punjab for "several years leading from the front and made valuable contributions in bringing the insurgency under control."

Gill, 82, breathed his last at 2:55 PM at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi.
