JK Minister orders suspension of BMO

Jammu and Kashmir Health Minister Lal Singh today suspended a Block Medical Officer as he found the Community health Centre (CHC) plunged into darkness without any power backup in Samba district.

During the visit to CHC Ramgarh at 3.25 am today, Lal Singh found that the CHC was plunged into darkness without any power backup, despite the availability of generator set, an official spokesman said.

Minister was informed by the staff at CHC that there was no fuel in the generator set for emergency, the spokesman said.

Moreover exchange of duties was observed as the names of both on duty medical officers were missing on the roaster. Similarly the driver on duty also did not figure in the duty roaster, he said.
 

In view of these administrative lapses, the Minister ordered suspension of Dr Balkari Lal, Block Medical Officer, Ramgarh with immediate effect and attachment with Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar pending inquiry, the spokesman said.

Four officials of the Health department were also attached for violation of dress code and dereliction of duty at other hospital.

The Minister asked the Health department authorities to transfer Vikas Sharma, Dresser, Rohit MMPHW, Nitin Baloeria and Sushil Sharma Nursing Orderlies to the office of Chief Medical Officer, Poonch for further duties.

At Sub District hospital (SDH) Basholi, the Minister directed the higher authorities to serve notice to Dr Amit Badgal, of Hiranagar, Kathua to resume duty at CHC Basholi with immediate effect otherwise action as warranted under rule will be initiated against him.
