The minister, Javed Ahmed Dar, was chairing a meeting to review the functioning of Government Medical College (GMC) and associated hospitals here today.
"The functionaries of Health and Medical Education should be more responsive towards patient care and in providing other administrative services to the people," he said.
The minister said no laxity will be accepted as far as the patient care is concerned.
The minister directed the Principal of GMC, Aniece Choudhary, to conduct review meeting once a month to discuss vital issues of the hospital.
He also asked the administrative units of GMC and hospitals to multiply their efforts for smooth and people friendly functioning of health institutions.
