JK police holds "Run for Fun" marathon

Jammu and Kashmir government today appreciated the role of state police in promoting sports by holding various sports related activities.

Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga, while speaking at the "Run for Fun" marathon organised by the state police at Gulshan Ground today, said, "Athletics are gaining more popularity among the people, which is a positive sign for a healthy society".

The state level marathon started from Police Sports Stadium, Gulshan Ground and thousands of men, women and children from different age groups participated in the marathon.

This was the sixth edition of the marathon which culminated at the venue after passing through various routes.
 

People were profusely cheering the runners while they passed through the routes in the city.

Ganga appreciated the contribution of Jammu and Kashmir Police in promoting sports activities in the state. He said that JK Police have played outstanding role in maintaining peace in the state.

"The force has always remained on forefront to safeguard the integrity of nation, ensuring security of the people. Besides its professional duties, the force has also contributed in the sports arena to inspire youth towards sports," Ganga said.
