"Traffic lights have been put up since past over two months, but traffic police and administration have totally failed to manage the traffic, causing huge traffic jams," NPSU president Virender Singh told reporters here today.
He alleged that traffic police were not serious about their duties and faulty traffic signals were adding to woes of commuters in the city.
NPSU also held protests at Jammu University, and raised slogans against the state government and SSP (Traffic), Jammu.
Singh said after the Durbar move, the number of vehicles in the city has increased, with more than 10,000 vehicles from other places in the state adding to traffic chaos.
The NPSU leader alleged that the state government had announced a flyover in the city but it was not implemented.
He urged the state government to immediately start the work of flyover, failing which, NPSU would hold protests against the government.
Traffic lights were installed and made operative in the city in August.
