"Sanction is accorded to the constitution of an Empowered Committee for monitoring the construction of new Legislature complex building in Jammu and conducting review of the project periodically," a senior state official said.
The committee will ensure that the new Rs 100 crore building is constructed in a fool proof manner and adequate precautions are taken to safeguard the existing building, he said.
The old Legislative Assembly building suffered damages on the night of December 10.
The panelist include Brij Raj Sharma, Principal Secretary to Government, Planning and Development Department, Tanveer Jehan, Commissioner-Secretary to Government, Public Works Department, Ghulam Hassan Tantray, Secretary to Government, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC).
The state government is examining the report submitted by the probe panel on the damaging of the Legislature complex in Jammu, to decide the holding of the next Budget Session in the state, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had told reporters here on Monday.
Omar said, "We will examine that report and will arrive at the conclusion where to hold the session (Next Budget session)".
Chief Minister said, "If it is not felt suitable for (conducting the session in) existing complex, alternate arrangements would be made".
Omar also asked JK Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) to expedite work on the Rs 100 crore complex, being constructed near the existing legislature building here.
The foundation stone of the six-storey building was laid by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on July 1, 2011.
