JK: Three drown in separate incidents

Three persons, including a 7-year-old boy, drowned in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours, police said today.

Suhail Ahmad Najar (25), a resident of Nishat area here, drowned in Lidder stream in the tourist resort of Pahalgam yesterday, a police spokesperson said. His body was later fished out.

In another incident, a 7-year-old boy Shahid Ahmad Waza died after he slipped into deep waters while taking bath in a stream in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

His body has not been recovered yet, the spokesperson said.

In the third incident, a 16-year-old boy Sajad Ahmad Bhat of Bugroo village in Budgam district, drowned in a canal near Doniwara yesterday. His body was fished out and handed over to the family, the spokesperson said.
