The State Vigilance Commission today ordered action against Block Development Officer (BDO) of Sopore and a Village Level Worker (VLW) in Baramulla district for their role in misuse and misappropriation of government funds released under MGNREGA scheme.
The Commission had ordered an inquiry by Director Rural Development into a complaint lodged by villagers of Tarzoo against the VLW and others, in connection with alleged irregularities in execution of development works under MGNREGA Schemeduring the year 2012-13, a SVC spokesman said.
The action was recommended after the report confirmed the allegation against the BDO and the VLW.
