JKFA to host State Football League next month

To unearth hidden talent across the valley, Jammu and kashmir Football Association (JKFA) will hold the State Football League 2017 later this month.

"More than 500 football teams and clubs with over 12000 players and over 1500 team officials are participating in the mega event, first of its kind in the history of J&K football," JKFA said in a statement here.

The event organised by JKFA is being funded by state government through State Sports Council.

The tournament involves district level leagues across all 22 districts.

The winners of these leagues will take part in the premier division matches from tomorrow.
 

"The preliminary rounds of the premier division matches in Srinagar are set to start from tomorrow at Synthetic Turf Football Stadium.

The first six toppers in premier division league will battle it out with champion teams of 22 district later on," the JKFA said.

The premier division teams include JK Bank XI, Forest XI, Police XI, Food & Supplies XI, Accountant General s XI, Maharaja FC, Iqbal FC, I-League teams Lone Star KFC and Real Kashmir FC.

The other teams are Power Development Corporation and State Football Academy.

The funds for the event had been earmarked by the government during the budget session in January.
