JKLA panel asks state govt to improve civic amenities

The Chairman of Environment Committee (EC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly M Y Tarigami, who chaired a meeting in this direction this evening, asked Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) department to take measures to further improve the civic amenities in both the capital cities of the state.

Tarigami sought details about the status of laying of sewerage line works in the twin cities, while calling for speedy restoration of dug up lanes and roads.

The Committee also sought details about the measures taken by the Municipal Corporations for scientific disposal of solid waste generated in the cities. It also sought the details of the air and noise pollution in Jammu and Srinagar.

 

Principal Secretary, H&UD Suresh Kumar, briefed the committee about the measures taken by the department to improve the sanitation and other civic amenities in both the cities.
