JKNPP holds rally in Jammu; accuses BJP of 'dual standards'

Accusing the BJP of indulging in "politics of duplicity", a group of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) leaders and workers today held a rally here following which many of them were detained by police.

The rally after passing through Jammu city was stopped by policemen deployed at Patnitop on the highway and prevented it from moving to Kashmir.

The workers carrying tricolour in their hands jostled with the police personnel during the Tiranga Rally.

Accusing the the BJP of "playing the politics of duplicity, deceit and betrayals", JKNPP Chairman Harsh Dev Singh said people of India and Jammu region in particular were feeling "cheated" by the saffron party's "skullduggery and dual standards".
 

Over 50 workers and leaders of JKNPP were detained after they courted arrest at Patnitop on the Jammu and Kashmir Highway when they were prevented from moving to Kashmir during their Tiranga yatra, SSP Ramban, Randeep Kumar said.

He said that they were later released in the evening.
