JKPCC condemns Pak shelling

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today strongly condemned the Pakistani firing targeting civilian areas in R S Pura and Arnia sectors near the international border causing death of 3 persons and injuring 17 others.

Strongly condemning the Pakistani firing, Ravinder Sharma JKPCC Chief Spokesperson has expressed grave concern over the situation along the Indo-Pak border and LoC.

He said that the situation has become grim in view of repeated incidents of shelling from across the border targeting the civilian population.

He said that an effective strategy should be adopted to put pressure on Pakistan to stop indulging in ceasefire violations and targeting the civilian population in the state.
 

He expressed great shock and anguish over the loss of lives and injuries and expressed sympathies with the affected families.

He urged the government to provide relief of Rs 5 lakh to each affected family and employment to one member of each victim's family, besides adequate relief to injured persons.

Sharma said that since the Modi government took over a record number of ceasefire violations and causalities have taken place.

He said the suffering of people reflects the failure of the policies of the present government and exposes the hollowness of the claims of Prime Minister Narinder Modi to contain the activities of Pakistan and improve the over all situation, if voted to power.

He said that the people are becoming victim and facing great hardships because of the hollowness of the policies of the Modi government resulting in heighten tension between the two countries.
