JKPCC pays tribute to Nehru on his 50th death anniversary

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today paid rich tributes to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru on his 50th death anniversary, recalling the India's first Prime Minister's visionary and dynamic leadership.

A function was observed at Congress headquarters here to mark the occasion in which several senior leaders took part and paid tributes to Nehru, remembering his numerous contributions during the freedom struggle and as the first Prime Minister of free India.

The speakers recalled the visionary and dynamic leadership of Nehru under whose stewardship the country laid strong foundations in all spheres of life and progressed on all fronts.

Nehru is known as the architect of Modern India, the speakers recalled and underlined how he led the country in its formative years.
 

He was a statesman of international repute and was instrumental in the formation of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in the world leading to the creation of a new world order, when world was divided into two blocks, they said.

Nehru firmly believed and followed the ideals of secularism and socialism, keeping in line with the pluralistic character of this nation, they said, adding that his philosophy is becoming more and more relevant with each passing day.

It is the need of the hour to follow and propagate his philosophy and ideals to the younger generation, the speakers added.
