All zonal commissioners and engineers of the corporation participated in the protest.
"It was a one day symbolic protest against the baseless allegations levelled by public representatives. Officers perform their duty and have no political agenda," CEO Loknath Soni said.
Councillor Sanjay Verma had waved a poster accusing Soni of being a "agent" of a political party during a general meeting last Friday, after which the staff had decided to protest against the action.
