The JMM today staged road blockade in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district protesting against exclusion of Baripada from the Centrally sponsored medical college projects in three places of the state.
JMM activists put up road blockades under the leadership of state unit president Sudam Marandi near Murgabadi on Kolkata-Chennai National Highway and Station Bazar Square disrupting vehicular traffic.
They shouted slogans against the state and central governments for allegedly neglecting Mayurbhanj. A demonstration was also held by JMM near the district collectorate.
The party has also called a Mayubhanj bandh on Monday to intensify the stir.
Other opposition parties like BJP and CPI have also separately expressed their anguish over the issue and accused the state and central governments of failing to meet the long standing of the people of Mayurbhanj.
