JNAC to strictly implement Solid Waste Management Act: Special

The East Singhbhum district administration was chalking out a strategy to implement Solid Waste Management Act 2016 strictly in the areas under Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, a JNAC officer said today

The Act would be implemented in Jamshedpur strictly from November 15, the foundation day of Jharkhand, JNAC Special Officer, Sanjay Kumar, said today.

Kumar said FIR would be registered against persons dumping garbage in the open and miscreants torching dustbins.

The objective was to improve the ranking of the city in the Swachh Survekshan 2018, he said adding that the action of the administration was aimed to ensure that the people should discharge their responsibility.
 

As per the act, he said it was mandatory for persons generating waste to dispose systematically through available municipal services or voluntarily.

The city has been divided into three zones - East, Central and West - and new contractors have been appointed recently, he said adding that people can register complain regarding the cleanliness-related to the helpline for each zone.

Kumar said the City Manager has been instructed to ensure that the concerned inspectors and contractor of the department should supervise the cleanliness drive launched in the city daily.
