"On May day, BJP offers its good wishes to the workmen and labourers of the entire world, especially of India. During NDA rule from 1999-2000 to 2004-05, the Indian economy generated employment for 62 million people but in 2004-05 and 2009-10, it generated only 2 million employment," BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.

Quoting from NSSO data, he wondered as to why employment was falling in the country when the government claimed the growth rate was 8.4 per cent.

"We want to ask the Prime Minister as to what happened that employment almost came to a standstill during the UPA government," he said. PTI RC
