Singer John Legend has been roped in to play Frederick Douglass in the WGN America series "Underground".
Legend, 37, who currently serves as an executive producer on the show, will be taking on the role of the well-known abolitionist and author, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Douglass is not the only historical figure that will make an appearance on the thriller in its second season. Actress Aisha Hinds will be stepping into the role of Harriet Tubman, while Sadie Stratton will portray Patty Cannon, a notorious slave trader.
The second season will consist of 10 episodes.
