Hollywood star Johnny Depp presented legendary actor Christopher Lee with a British Film Institute (BFI) Fellowship for his contribution to film and television at the 57th London Film Festival Awards.

The 91-year-old star has acted in more than 250 films, among which include the titular role in 'Dracula', the role of Count Dooku in the 'Star Wars' prequel trilogy and Saruman in Peter Jackson's 'Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' trilogies.

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star surprised the big screen veteran by attending the event to present him with his award, reported BBC online.

"The BFI Fellowship is awarded to those at the pinnacle of their profession. It is a truly illustrious moment to be honouring Sir Christopher Lee for his enormous and unique contribution to film during a festival that is committed to excellence," BFI chief executive Amanda Nevill said.

Speaking earlier this month when the announcement was initially made, Lee described the award as 'a great privilege'.

"It is a great privilege to be included amongst such a distinguished group of predecessors who have received this Award from the BFI," he said.
