The "Dark Shadows" star will return to his title role from 1990 movie for a brief gag in the adult animated sitcom, reported Contactmusic.
"When he was in the booth, he said that he felt like he hadn't done that voice since he did it in front of the camera. [But] he was able to snap right back into Edward Scissorhands once we pulled up a clip from the movie," said Mark Hentemann, 'Family Guy' executive producer
It is not clear when the 49-year-old actor's appearance will be broadcast.
The new series of 'Family Guy' returns to US TV on September 30.
