'Sweet Home Alabama' star Josh Lucas has been cast in NBC Drama 'The Mysteries of Laura', which also stars actress Debra Messing.
The one-hour drama follows the life of the titular female homicide detective, which Messing would be playing. Lucas, 42, will essay the role of Laura's soon-to-be ex-husband Jake, who ends up being captain of her police precinct, reported Variety.
The actor previously appeared in legal drama 'The Firm'.
Penned by Jeff Rake, the series will be directed by McG.
'The Mysteries of Laura' is based on the Spanish show 'Los Misterios de Laura', an original series created by Carlos Vila and Javier Holgado.
