Punjab Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi today appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony in the state.
He was addressing people after holding a 'Paschatap Samagam' organized here.
A bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib (continuous recitation of hymns) was organized by the minister as repentance over the sacrilege incidents.

Joshi said, "we should stay united to thwart attempts of anti-social elements, which are on their sole mission to destabilise the hard earned peace."
He said the state government was tirelessly working to expose the "entire conspiracy" behind these incidents.
He said that perpetrators of this heinous act were hell bent upon creating trouble in Punjab.
"But we must be aware about their designs and wage a unified war against such anti-Punjab forces. The intention of these forces behind the sacrilege incidents is to again put Punjab into black days by disrupting peace and creating turmoil in the state," he said.
The occasion was attended by BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh, Mayor Bakshi Ram Arora, BJP District President Naresh Sharma, among others.
