Journalist detained in J-K

Arif Gilkar, a resident of Srinagar's old city, who works as an associate editor with 'Suraag-e-Kashmir' news magazine, has been detained for questioning, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Khanyar Tahir Saleem said.

Gilkar was detained as part of the police investigation into a case related to SIM cards used to access the Internet for "subversive activities", Saleem said.

He, however, did not elaborate on the "subversive activities" the police is investigating.
