A journalist was today shot dead allegedly by some unidentified persons in Gosaiganj area here, police said.
Karun Mishra (28) was shot by three unidentified persons near Katka Bazar when he was going somewhere on a motorcycle, they said.
He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead, police said.
Police is probing the matter. No arrests have so far been made in this connection.

The Jharkhand Journalist Association met Home Secretary N N Pandey and submitted a memorandum in Ranchi, a copy of which was submitted to the Office of the Chief Secretary.
The Home Secretary sought a report from the DGP who said "vital clues have been found in the murder," an Association release said.
The DGP said CID sleuths were investigating the matter and culprits would be arrested soon. Officials of the Forensic Science Laboratory were also doing their job, the release said.
