Jowar, bajra ease on reduced offtake

Prices of jowar and bajra eased up to Rs 25 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to reduced offtake by stockists following fall in demand from consuming industries against adequate stocks position.

Traders said reduced offtake by consuming industries against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on jowar and bajra prices.

In the national capital, jowar yellow and white were down by Rs 20 and Rs 25 to Rs 1,380-1,400 and Rs 2,300-2,500 per quintal respectively.

Bajra also declined by Rs 20 to Rs 1,160-1,165 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,245-2,445, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,610-1,615, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,615-1,620, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 855- 865 (50 kg), Maida 915-925 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,090-1,110 (50 kg).
 

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice 9,500, Basmati common new 7,700-8,200, Rice Pusa (1121) new 6,500-8,200, Permal raw 2,100-2,150, Permal wand 2,250-2,300, Sela 2,650-2,700 and Rice IR-8 1,925-1,975,Bajra 1,160-1,165, Jowar yellow 1,380-1,400, white 2,300-2,500, Maize 1,200-1,205, Barley 1,580-1,585.
